Text Here will not let me

I just downloaded this app, and it will not let me type. It tells me to rotate my iPad. If I do that, the keyboard is90 degrees from the screen. I tried it anyway, but it still would not let me type.

So? How am I to add text without typing?

Also, it leaves red circles and arrows in the photo that do not disappear. Annoying.
